Foraging Class Description
Join our foraging guides Katie and Luke for a walk in the woods and learn about the tasty wild foods that you can harvest in June! During this class, you'll learn how to identify wild foods, what to use them for and how to prepare them, where to find them, ethical foraging tips and more. The season of growth is HERE and the woods are abundant, with wild foods surrounding us on every walk in nature. We hope you'll join us for a lovely spring morning outside, exploring the fun of foraging for wild foods!

Mushroom Class Description
Expand your knowledge and appreciation for the amazing mushrooms that grow in Michigan’s wild places at this NEW once monthly IYE community class! During this explore and learn experience, you’ll head out for a hike with our Certified Wild Mushroom Expert Luke Venechuk to hunt for mushrooms and learn about what you’ve found. We’ll talk about all the mushrooms encountered, whether they’re edible, medicinal, poisonous, or none-of-the-above. Our goal is to help you expand your knowledge of mushroom anatomy, learn how to ID different types of mushrooms, and appreciate how the mushrooms we spot on the landscape change across the seasons!

We teach foraging classes at least twice a month, and class dates are announced between one and three months in advance.
